The Blue Lagoon, Iceland

The Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa is one of the most popular and well-known tourist attractions in Iceland. Although not 100% natural, the spa is built over naturally occuring geothermal hot springs that were transformed into a lagoon and energy source for Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is on the Reykjanes Peninsula, a bit removed from the bustle of Reykjavik, so it made the perfect day trip for us! Its famous for the strikingly blue water, steam rising over the pool, and minerals such as silica that are used in skin care treatments. We weren`t sure if we would go, as entrance tickets can be a little pricey, but ultimately decided to go, because When will we ever have this chance again??? We took the cheapest, standard ticket, which allowed entry and bathing in the Blue Lagoon but none of the spa facilities. Okay with me! Check out some of my photos:
